SPARTANBURG, S.C. (WSPA) – An overturned concrete truck blocked a portion of North Pine Street in Spartanburg for several hours Thursday.

The crash happened around 10:45 a.m. near the intersection of North Pine Street and Daniel Morgan Avenue.

Spartanburg Police said a concrete truck was headed northbound when it attempted to slow down, causing its load to shift and the truck to overturn.

Officers said the concrete truck overturned and slid into the southbound lanes of Pine Street, hitting a tractor-trailer and an SUV.

The driver of the concrete truck was taken to the hospital by ambulance with injuries that were not life-threatening.

Crews worked to clean up concrete, along with fuel and oil, which had spilled on the road.

Southbound lanes of Pine Street were blocked at E. Cleveland Street and traffic was rerouted.

All lanes reopened by 3 p.m.
